This page explains what personal data Founcy Solutions collects when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We've kept it in plain English.
Who we are
Founcy Solutions is a London web design, SEO and Google Business Profile agency. For the personal data described on this page we are the "controller": we decide how and why it's used.
- Business: To confirm: the full legal name, e.g. "Founcy Solutions Ltd" with its company number, or the owner's name if you trade as a sole trader
- Address: 84 Belgrave Rd, Ilford IG1 3AL, London, UK
- Email: info@founcysolutions.com
- Phone: 07412 822 241
- ICO registration: To confirm: your registration number with the Information Commissioner's Office (most UK businesses that handle personal data must pay the data protection fee)
What we collect and why
When you send an enquiry through the "Start a project" form
- What you give us: your name and email address, and if you choose to add them, your phone number, company, website, the services you're interested in, a budget range and your message.
- What we record with it: the date and time, the page you sent it from, the service page you came from (if any), the description your browser gives of itself (its "user agent"), and a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address. We use that code only to stop spam floods (it limits how many enquiries one connection can send in an hour); we can't turn it back into your IP address.
- Why: to reply to you and prepare a quote or proposal. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Keeping a record of the conversation and preventing spam rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Where it goes: your enquiry is saved in our website's database and emailed to our team inbox.
- Marketing: we won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing just because you made an enquiry. If we ever start a newsletter, we'll only send it to people who ask for it, and every email will include a one-click unsubscribe link.
When you email or phone us
We keep what you send or tell us so we can reply and keep a record of any work we do for you, on the same lawful bases as above.
When you browse the website
- Like every website, our web server records each request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, and your browser's user agent. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working, and they're deleted automatically after 14 days. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.
- No analytics or advertising trackers at the moment. We don't currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels or similar tools, and the site doesn't load fonts, scripts or videos from other companies. If we add analytics in future, we'll update this policy first and ask for your consent before any analytics cookies are set.
Cookies and similar storage
We only use what the site needs to work, which is why there's no cookie banner. Apart from the security cookie, these stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
- csrftoken (a cookie, kept 1 year): security. It protects the enquiry form from forged submissions.
- seoco_theme (your browser's local storage, until you clear it): remembers whether you picked the day or night theme.
- seoco_domain, seoco_needs, seoco_scope, seoco_service, seoco_done_… (your browser's session storage, until you close the tab): carry your answers from the self-check and cost tools into the enquiry form, so you don't type them twice.
- founcy_wipe, seoco_exit, seoco_idle (your browser's session storage, until you close the tab): run the page-change animation and make sure a pop-up appears no more than once.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with companies that provide services we need, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Website hosting: our hosting provider, currently Contabo GmbH, on servers in Germany (EU).
- Email: our email provider, which hosts our info@founcysolutions.com mailbox and delivers the enquiry emails the site sends us.
- Domain and network: Cloudflare, Inc. manages our domain name and connects it to our hosting server. It may handle connection data, including IP addresses, when it routes or protects traffic to the site.
- Advisers and authorities: our accountants or legal advisers, or public authorities such as HMRC, where the law requires it.
If you become a client, we'll tell you about any other services used for your project in our agreement.
Where your data is stored
Our website, its database and our email are hosted in the UK or the EU, which UK law recognises as protecting personal data to the same standard as the UK.
Cloudflare is based in the US. Its data processing terms cover data from the UK in two ways: Cloudflare complies with the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, including its UK extension (the "UK-US data bridge"), and the terms also include the EU standard contractual clauses with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to work: 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Clients: while we work together, then 6 years after the project ends, to meet tax and legal record-keeping rules.
- Web server logs: 14 days.
- Website backups: each nightly backup of the website's database is deleted after 14 days, so anything we delete is gone from the backups within 14 days too.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- limit how we use it, or object to how we use it (you can stop any direct marketing at any time);
- send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email info@founcysolutions.com. There's normally no charge, and we'll reply within one month. We don't make decisions about you by automated means or profile you.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
How we protect your data
The site runs only over HTTPS with strict browser security settings. The enquiry form is protected against forged submissions and spam, access to the website's admin is limited to named staff, and the database is backed up every night. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.
Children
Our services are for businesses, and this website isn't aimed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
